Super Flower Blood Moon in Scorpio

This coming weekend we are going to experience a phenomenal astrological event. Not only is it a Full Flower Moon, but it’s also a Lunar Eclipse, thus a Super Flower Blood Moon lunar eclipse. And what better astrology placement to be in than Scorpio! So let’s explore what that means exactly.

We all know how important Full Moon’s are. They symbolize our inner worlds, the unconscious or subconscious, the hidden. What we keep in the dark. We also know that this also represents our emotional selves, our shadows (great time for shadow work!!). Full moons allow us to open ourselves up, to be vulnerable and truly embrace our shadows. We see this when we look at the element that the moon is associated with; water. Water is the emotional self, ebbing and flowing. Our emotions are kin with the rivers and oceans.

So how do we connect this symbolism with witchcraft? With the Full Moon it’s time to be receptive and reflective. It’s a time to really see what is being illuminated for you at this time, emotionally and physically. Oftentimes we become aware of bad habits, toxic emotions and emotional processes, where we might not be taking care of ourselves properly. But it’s also a time to see beyond the ‘shortcomings.’ What are we grateful for? How might we turn the tables of our bad habits and toxic behaviors and really truly take care of ourselves? Listen to that insight, sit with it, and accept those parts of yourself during this time.

This phase is also deeply connected with the Feminine and allows you to sink further into that part of yourself. Let yourself be open and accepting of nourishment. The Feminine is often cast aside in our culture today, but during this time we are so close to Her. Allow yourself to be held and supported by that energy.

Now, what makes this already special moon even more special is the fact that it’s a Blood Moon. What is a Blood Moon exactly? A Blood Moon simply means that the moon is in a total lunar eclipse. The Earth is passing between the Sun and Moon, thus blocking off the sunlight and causing an eclipse. There are different types of eclipse, partial and full, but for now we’re going to focus on the full Blood Moon eclipse!

Spiritual, this is a big moment. At the surface level, a Blood Moon represents endings and closure. They reveal hidden truths and information making it an excellent time for all things divination. And they represent conscious shifts and new awareness. While Full Moons represent the unconscious, now with the Blood Moon we are bringing in our conscious awareness as well.

We also see two different elements being represented here. Earth and water. Expect to dive into your depths, the mysteries of the self, the universe, magic. Your emotions, intuition, instincts and moods are all going to be heightened and you will be fully aware of them. We’re being asked to step boldly into the space of ourselves that we often repress, but this time with clear sight. With the addition of the Earth element we’re looking at our Root Chakra. Now is a perfect time to align and work with the energies of the Root Chakra. Spend some time focusing on our base, animalistic survival needs. Manifest what you need to survive and live in this world. Focus on your basic emotional and physical needs during this time.
And of course, we can’t forget what placement this moon falls under, Scorpio! Scorpio is the placement of transformation, cycles, life, death, and rebirth. We are being called to really examine our emotional and physical needs, to say goodbye to that which causes us harm and to let it go. We are being called to boldly walk forward with the full awareness of what we need and deserve to live our best lives and to be our best selves. Change and transformation don’t have to be scary. It may be hard, but it doesn’t have to be scary. It’s okay to let go, to be vulnerable with yourselves and to accept what it is you need to move forward and live your truth.
